⫻ nothing leaves your browser

What Auto Refresh Timer reads, what it keeps on your device, and what it never does.

1. Who I am

I'm Mohammed Albalawi, the independent developer who makes Auto Refresh Timer (the "Extension"). For anything privacy-related, write to [email protected].

2. What it reads

The current tab. When you open the Extension's popup, the browser tells it which tab you are on, with that tab's title, so Start knows which tab to reload. The title is kept only when you press Start, to label the tab in its list of running timers; opening the popup without pressing Start keeps nothing.

Nothing else. It never reads, keeps or sends a page's address, never reads a page's content, is never loaded into a page, and reads no other tab.

3. What it keeps on this device

Your last-used interval and options (Stop after, Vary the interval, Bypass the cache) stay in the browser's extension storage on this device, so they are ready next time.

The running timers, each with its tab's title, interval, options and reload count, stay in the browser's session storage. A timer and its title are removed when you stop it or close its tab, and the browser clears all of them when it closes.

Nothing is sent anywhere. Removing the Extension clears all of it.

4. What it never does

It makes no network request of any kind. There is no server of mine behind it: no analytics, no tracking, no account, no ads and no remote code.

It never reads your pages, never reads your browsing history, never keeps or sends the addresses you visit, and never sells, shares or transfers any data.

5. Permissions and why

alarms: for a check every 30 seconds that starts the clock again if the browser stopped it, and on Firefox for the clock itself.

storage: to remember your last interval and options on this device, and the running timers until the browser closes.

activeTab: to know which tab you are on, and its title, when you open the popup.

Nothing else. It does not ask for access to any site, for your tabs or for your browsing history.

6. The tabs you reload

Each reload is the same as pressing the browser's reload button. The site sees an ordinary visit from your browser, so that site's own privacy policy covers what it records about it.

While a timer runs, the Extension asks the browser not to discard its tab, so memory saver keeps it loaded; stopping the timer restores the browser's default. This changes nothing about what the Extension reads.

7. Store disclosures

What I declare in each browser store's privacy form matches this page: no user data collected, none sold, none transferred, and none used for anything other than the Extension's single purpose.

8. Changes and contact

Updates to this policy are posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Questions or requests: [email protected].
