Usage and billing
5,000 attempts free every month, then meslzy credits in blocks of 1,000 attempts.
Push bills attempts: one notification to one connected browser. A send to a recipient with three connected browsers is three attempts.
Free allowance#
- 5,000 attempts are free every calendar month, per account. Months follow UTC, so the allowance resets at 00:00 UTC on the 1st.
- The allowance is shared by every project in the account.
Credits#
Past the free allowance, Push charges meslzy credits in blocks: one credit covers 1,000 attempts. The attempt that opens a block pays for it, so attempt 5,001 of the month costs one credit, which covers attempts 5,001 to 6,000.
| Attempts this month | Credits charged |
|---|---|
| 4,000 | 0 |
| 5,000 | 0 |
| 5,001 | 1 |
| 6,000 | 1 |
| 6,001 | 2 |
| 12,500 | 8 |
- Credits are charged when the attempts are created, for all attempts of a send at once.
- An attempt counts once. Retries by Push never count again.
- When the push service reports a browser as gone (
invalid_subscription), that attempt is removed from the month's count. Credits already charged stay, and later sends use the freed room. - Credits are bought on meslzy.com and shared across meslzy. Buy credits.
The usage panel in the dashboard shows this month's attempts, the free allowance, the credits used and your credit balance.
Test sends#
- Requests with a
testkey never count toward usage and never cost credits. - The dashboard's Send test button is a real
livesend: it reaches the recipient's browsers and counts like any other attempt.
Running out#
If the free allowance is used up and your balance cannot cover a send's attempts, the request fails with 402 QUOTA_EXCEEDED. Nothing is stored, sent or charged, so you can retry once you have added credits.
